"My kids deserve measles..."

I bet that's a phrase you never thought you'd hear from a mama and doctor, but it's actually true! Over the past several years, conversations around measles have become increasingly charged. Headlines are designed to alarm and push propaganda, and many parents are left feeling frightened, confused, and pressured. What rarely makes the news, however, is the TRUTH. There has been fascinating research exploring the relationship between certain benign childhood infections (measles, mumps, influenza, etc.) and long-term health outcomes, including heart health and cancer mortality.

In one of the largest population-based studies on this topic, researchers followed more than 100,000 adults in Japan for over two decades. They found that individuals who reported a history of measles had lower rates of cardiovascular mortality compared to those who did not. Those who experienced both measles and mumps showed an even lower risk of death from heart attacks and strokes.

Key Findings From the JACC Cohort Study:
  • Adults with a history of measles had lower rates of death from cardiovascular disease than those who reported no infections.
  • People who had both measles and mumps had an even lower risk of death from heart attacks and strokes compared with those who never had either disease.
  • For men, those with both infections showed notably reduced risk of myocardial infarction and total cardiovascular mortality.
  • Women with both infections showed reduced risk of total cardiovascular disease and stroke mortality.

Another interesting study, The Newcastle Thousand Families Study, followed individuals born in 1947 in the United Kingdom and tracked health outcomes across decades, offering a rare pre-vaccine era dataset. In a later analysis of this cohort, researchers examined whether documented childhood infections were associated with cancer outcomes in adulthood. They reported that individuals who had experienced measles or influenza in childhood had a lower risk of death from cancer later in life, compared with those who had not had those infections.

Key findings From the Newcastle Thousand Families Study:
  • Childhood measles was associated with reduced adult cancer mortality.
  • Childhood influenza was also associated with reduced adult cancer mortality.
  • Results were based on a single birth cohort (born 1947, pre-vaccine era).
Do you get it now, mamas?  They lied to you and held the important TRUTH from you and your children. Both of these studies show that early immune experiences — including exposure to benign childhood infections — plays a role in shaping lifelong immune strength and health. These findings are consistent with the idea that each immune challenge contributes to the maturation and adaptability of the immune system. It's important to understand that the immune system develops through experience and that early exposures can have a significant influence on how the body responds to future health challenges.

Support the body for a Thriving Immune Response

Measles and other benign childhood illnesses don't have to feel scary! In fact, modern research about immunity and nutrients consistently shows:

✔ A body rich in vitamin A, D, K2, omega-3s, and choline supports proper immune signaling and healing.

✔ Fat-soluble vitamins are not just “nice to have” — they are biologically critical for immune cell function, barrier integrity, and regulated responses.

This is why so many wild mamas tell us their kids go through seasonal bugs with ease. When your child's system is nutrient-saturated from real food,  the body has the raw materials it needs to respond, recover, and stay strong.

That’s where Wild Mamas supplements come in. Our prairie grass-fed and finished, Regenerative Organic Certified, humanely field harvested, never vaccinated, never chemically bathed, and always wild bison organ supplements help:

  • Saturate your cells with the complete array of fat-soluble vitamins, B vitamins, critical minerals, and the cofactors and coenzymes that power every cellular process.
  • Fill major gaps that modern diets leave behind.
  • Support immunity, tissue repair, and calm inflammation.
  • Give mamas confidence that their children are well-nourished and prepared when illness comes. (That’s the real secret to resilient health!!)

A foundation built on nourishment and TRUTH changes everything. Our wild mamas don’t fear seasonal illnesses or headlines — they know a body deeply nourished is designed to thrive.
