If something makes it to the Wild Mamas' website, rest assured it is not only life changing, but the Wolfson's also use it in their own home. Wild Mamas' organ supplements are the GOLD standard in the organ supplement industry, and I am extremely critical about who I choose to promote and allow on my site.

For years, I searched for the best olive oil but couldn't find a single company that met my high standards. I was well aware of all the dirty little secrets in the industry in addition to how contaminated most of the oils can be. Here's what caught my attention with the company I chose to try and eventually bring to my Wild Mamas' website. Kasandrinos, a family owned and operated, small batch, single source, organic extra virgin olive oil company who tested negative for phthalates made it to the top of my list. They are the ONLY company I am aware of who doesn't have phthalates in their olive oil. Phthalates are one of the most toxic plasticizers on Earth and are known endocrine disruptors. They are linked to fertility issues, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and a long list of other serious health problems.

When my husband, Dr. Jack Wolfson, a cardiologist who is interested in the heart health benefits of olive oil, introduced me to the owner of Kasandrinos, I immediately recognized the same passion and commitment to quality that drives everything we do here at Wild Mamas.

While on this mission to get phthalates out of his oil, he discovered that a commonly used piece of equipment in the olive oil production process was contaminating all olive oils on the market today. Determined to solve the problem, he traced the source of the contamination and replaced the plastic components with safer, non-plastic alternatives.

That level of dedication is exactly why I trust this company. In addition to testing for phthalates, Kasandrinos also screens for a wide range of other contaminants, including glyphosate, heavy metals, BPA, and more. Their commitment to purity and transparency is truly exceptional.

Another major reason I chose Kasandrinos was its exceptionally high polyphenol content. With an impressive 917 mg/kg of polyphenols—nearly 10 times higher than the average grocery store olive oil—it delivers significantly greater antioxidant benefits and reflects the exceptional quality of the olives and the care taken throughout the production process.
Lab tested for purity, pressed within 24 hours of harvest and traceable from farm to bottle, your taste buds and tummy will be impressed.

The gold standard has guided Wild Mamas from the very beginning and my goal is to create a collection of the purest products on Earth for all our families.

Here's there Six Transparency Benchmarks.

The first is traceability. They believe you should know exactly where your olive oil came from, who grew the olives, and how they made their way from the grove to your kitchen. I love that because food should never feel anonymous. Know your farmer, know your fisherman, know your olive grower

Their second benchmark is freshness, and this is something I wish more people knew. Olive oil isn't like wine. It doesn't improve with age. Fresh olive oil has an incredible aroma, a vibrant green flavour, and that unmistakable peppery finish at the back of your throat. That's one of the characteristics of a fresh, well-produced extra virgin olive oil, and it's one of the first things I noticed when I tried theirs.

Their third benchmark is purity. Rather than simply asking customers to trust the label, Kasandrinos independently tests their olive oil to verify that what's inside the bottle is exactly what they say it is. That kind of accountability is becoming increasingly uncommon, and I deeply appreciate companies willing to hold themselves to that standard.

The fourth benchmark focuses on contaminant testing. This really resonated with me because it reflects the same philosophy we've always had at Wild Mamas. Food should nourish us, not quietly expose us to things we never intended to consume. They openly share testing because they believe families deserve that information before bringing a product into their home.

Their fifth benchmark is quality. Their olive oil isn't made from just one variety. They combine Koroneiki olives, prized for their bold flavor and naturally high polyphenol content, with Athinolia olives, a traditional Greek variety known for softening that peppery bite with a smooth, fruity finish. The result is an olive oil that tastes exactly like fresh olives should—alive, vibrant, and beautifully balanced.

The final benchmark is transparency, and I think it's my favorite of all. Instead of relying on clever marketing or asking people to simply believe them, they choose to show the harvest information, the testing, the certifications, and the production methods. They understand that trust is earned.

As I finished reading about their process, I had one simple thought.

This is exactly the kind of company I want Wild Mamas to partner with.

Because trust has always been one of our core values. Every product on our website exists because I spent the time asking difficult questions, spent many hours in deep research  and always used the product myself before ever recommending it to another family.

Kasandrinos passed all my tests and I want to welcome them to my site.

One of my favorite ways to use their olive oil is to drizzle it over our wild salmon filets from Lummi Island and then sprinkle Kasandrinos' Greek sea salt on top for the finishing touch. Kasandrinos' equally amazing and healthy sea salt adds the perfect crunch and flavor to any dish. We also use both as the base for all our salad dressings we make.

The more years I spend studying nutrition, the more convinced I become that we don't need to keep searching for the next miracle food. We need to return to the foods that have nourished families for generations and choose companies whose values reflect the kind of care we want around our own kitchen tables.

That's exactly why Kasandrinos has a place in mine.

And I'm so excited that it now has a place at Wild Mamas.
