  THYMUS GLAND

  The thymus gland is an integral part of our children's immune system, containing lymphatic tissue, with proteins that act as stimulants for natural killer cells. The thymus is a specialized organ that produces and "educates" T-lymphocytes (T-cells). Each T cell attacks a foreign substance which it identifies with its receptor.  Involution of the thymus has been linked to loss of immune function in the elderly, susceptibility to infection and to cancer.*

   

  SPLEEN

  The spleen is an important part of the body's defense (immune) system. It contains special white blood cells that destroy bacteria and help the body fight infections when you are sick. Take spleen to boost the immune system. The spleen is also used to support autoimmune function, rheumatoid arthritis, blood disorders and blood vessel health. Spleen also contains high levels of a class of short lipids known as alkylglycerols(AKGs for short.) AKGs serve as powerful immune system boosters, helping to strengthen the immune system. Spleen is a great source of vitamins B3 & B12, and vitamin C. Also pantothenic acid, potassium and zinc. Spleen is supportive for allergies, immune and blood deficiencies.

   

  LIVER

   The liver expresses antimicrobial peptide known as LEAP-2, which is involved in immune response and glucose metabolism. The Ergothioneine Peptide is an amino acid found in the liver to support detoxification and longevity pathways.

   

  PANCREAS

   The pancreas has various adaptive immune cells, including T cells and B cells, that play crucial roles in maintaining immune tolerance and fighting infections. The Pancreas is high in phosphorus, vitamins B2, B5 & B12. 

   

  KIDNEY

  The kidney is extremely high in vitamin B12. A 3 oz. slice of kidney yields more than 10 times the daily requirement. Kidney is the best organ for omega-3’s. It is also high in selenium, iron, copper, zinc, and the enzyme DAO. DAO is an enzyme that helps break down excess histamine in the body; therefore, kidney is highly recommended for those who suffer from symptoms related to the overproduction of histamine. DAO supports overall immune health and histamine metabolism and digestion.
