Prenatal ultrasounds are often considered a routine, non-invasive part of pregnancy care. However, we do know that even one ultra sound causes grave harm and growing evidence suggests that repeated use poses significant risks to fetal development.

When I was pregnant with my first child at 32, I chose a home birth with a midwife who, against my wishes, required at least one ultrasound solely to look at the placenta. As a chiropractor with a deep understanding of the human body, the recommendation didn’t sit well with me. In fact, I called the famous MD obstetrician who delivered me 50 years ago, Dr. Gladys McGarey, and asked her what I should do. Her exact words...."LEAVE THAT BABY ALONE!"

Instead of searching for another midwife with the same beliefs and EDUCATION, I unfortunately went along with her recommendation despite both Dr. Gladys' and my understanding of the imminent danger of even ONE ultra sound.  I ended up having three babies with this midwife, each time with one ultrasound—and I deeply regret those decisions I made out of FEAR and not trusting in my body and the innate wisdom GOD created us with.

Each time that ultrasound wand was placed on my abdomen, I felt a significant amount of PAIN directly underneath the contact area. I told the ultrasound tech each time that I felt pain and they said they had never heard that before. I even demanded that the doctor come in to check to make sure every gadget and knob was where it was supposed to be even though the tech knows more than the doctor, most of the time! I know I'm not the first person to experience this and most women wouldn't dare say anything to a tech or doctor for fear of sounding crazy or uneducated but I know my body and I know when something is not right. I KNEW I was causing harm. Each time I had this done, I stopped the tech half way through and would say, "I've had enough of this and you saw what you needed to see!"

With my fourth pregnancy, at age 45, under the care of a new midwife, I made a different choice. I was determined to do this pregnancy and delivery just as it was designed to be. I committed to a completely ultrasound-free pregnancy and absolutely no blood draws, whatsoever. The result? My healthiest baby yet—a daughter. And as many of you know, a female baby carries all of her future eggs while still in the womb. The implications of prenatal exposure extend far beyond just one generation.

This is about more than just the baby in your womb—it’s about protecting the long-term health of our children, and their future children.

I encourage you to explore this topic with an open mind and consider the potential impact of interventions we often accept without question. This isn't about fear. It's about awareness. It's about protecting future generations.

We  are told that ultrasounds are completely safe during pregnancy—after all, it’s been used for decades. Vaccines have been in use for well over 100 years and are also said to be safe during pregnancy!  😉  But just because something has been around and used for years, doesn’t mean it’s harmless.

50 Human Studies from China Reveal Biological Damage

Researchers in China—operating under different ethical standards—conducted approximately 50 in utero ultrasound exposure studies involving over 2,700 women who were planning to terminate their pregnancies. Sarah Pope writes:

As summarized in Jim West’s book, Diagnostic Ultrasound: A New Bibliography, these studies revealed clear biological effects from diagnostic ultrasound exposure, even at low intensities:

Biological effects identified:

  • DNA fragmentation

  • Cellular damage in fetal brain, eyes, kidneys

  • Increased risk of conditions like autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, eczema, allergies, jaundice and even childhood cancers

Methods included biochemical assays, flow cytometry, electrophoresis, and electron microscopy—offering unprecedented insight into fetal tissue changes following ultrasound.

“The Chinese research reveals ultrasound as a form of medical radiation, not simply a diagnostic tool.”
 Jim West, Medical Researcher

2021 study by leading European obstetricians took a closer look at the biological effects of ultrasound on fetal tissue.

Their findings:

  • Ultrasound waves heat up tissue, even in the womb

  • This can cause stress at the cellular level, and in animals, has been shown to impact DNA, immune function, and neurological systems

  • There is no current requirement for practitioners to monitor machine output—even though machine power increased 800% since 1992

Yet most expectant parents are never told any of this. I know I wasn't informed of ANY of these side effects before they performed the ultrasound on my belly and my babies!

As someone who believes in GOD and honoring the body’s innate wisdom, I feel it is my duty to help educate on this topic to protect our future generations. Your baby is developing in a perfectly intelligent and protected environment—I'm gonna go with my instincts on this one, the studies that back my instincts, and with Dr. Gladys McGarey MD, on this one and say, "NEVER AGAIN WILL I PERFORM AN ULTRASOUND ON MY PREGNANT ABDOMEN!"

Even mainstream institutions are speaking out.

The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) warns that:

  • Studies link ultrasound exposure to low birth weight, delayed speech, and even neurological differences

  • These effects were observed with older, less powerful machines—and today’s machines are up to 8x stronger

Can you imagine some parents are encouraged to get “keepsake” ultrasounds—these carry absolutely no medical benefit and serve no purpose what so ever while exposing babies to serious harm.

Even the AIUM makes it clear: ultrasounds should only be used when absolutely necessary, by trained professionals, and exposure should always be kept to a minimum. From a holistic, natural and educated standpoint, I cannot find a single reason to perform fetal ultrasound.

Randomized Controlled Trial from The Lancet

In a groundbreaking 1993 randomized trial, Newnham et al. (PMID: 8105165) studied over 2,800 pregnant women in Western Australia to determine if frequent ultrasound scanning affected pregnancy outcomes.

Key Findings:

  • Women scanned five times (vs. once) had significantly higher rates of intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR).

  • Babies in the high-scan group were:

    • 35% more likely to have birthweights below the 10th percentile

    • 65% more likely to fall below the 3rd percentile for birthweight

My suggestion to you is this... Trust in the power that made your body. Trust that we have been having babies for a very long time the ancestral way. Our pregnancies, deliveries and babies were ALWAYS wild and free of current technology and other poisons. The result of technology and "science" has created the sickest generation of children in history.

Our ancestors did not have ultrasounds, vaccines or take synthetic "vitamins/prenatals" created in labs. THEY WERE WILDLY HEALTHY DESPITE WHAT THEY TELL US! They ate wild animal organs like liver, heart, kidney, pancreas, spleen, marrow and lots of wild salmon roe all of which you can find HERE in my prenatal and fertility STACK.

Always listen to your intuition mamas, and trust the wisdom that created life within you. Our babies—and their future children—deserve protection from the harms we’ve mistaken for care.
