Every Human and Animal Has Done This Since The Beginning.

There’s nothing more natural than a mother and baby sleeping together. ALL mammals sleep together...and you would expect humans to top that list of instinctual co-sleeping mammals.

From the moment humans existed, we slept with our babies, not only for nourishment at the breast, but for so much more — because that is how your creator designed it to be. From regulating temperature and breathing, to protection from danger, co-sleeping isn't a choice, it's simply what we are designed to do. For thousands of years, across cultures, generations, and continents, co-sleeping and breastfeeding were the unquestioned norm — not a controversial choice.

Today, many Western norms separate baby from mama, especially at night, and promote strict routines that do not align with human biology. If fact, I've heard that other cultures often ask, "is it true that Americans put their babies in cages at night, in their own bedrooms"?

When we look at nearly every other culture, we see a different story:

  • In Japan, over 90% of mothers bedshare with infants for the first year
  • In many African and South Asian cultures, close sleep and frequent breastfeeding are universal
  • Indigenous cultures worldwide view infant-parent sleep proximity as protective, not risky

This is not coincidence. It is built into our biology.

Why Babies wake frequently...

Night waking is normal. Human babies are born neurologically immature and REQUIRE:

  • Frequent feeding
  • Close contact
  • Responsive caregiving

Their brains and bodies are growing rapidly. They need frequent night nursings to keep up with their nutritional demands in addition to meeting their emotional and psychological needs for proper development. They are designed to cry if their mother's warmth, smell and heartbeat aren't right next to them constantly. This is built in brilliance. Not a poor design that needed to be fixed or retrained. It's a design so perfect that our creator made sure mama and baby are literally one person that first year to ensure the health and wellness for a lifetime to come. This design was never meant to be ignored or overrode.

When we try to force infants into isolated sleep before their nervous systems are ready, we increase stress hormones like cortisol, which WILL damage several neural networks of the brain including altering the development of the amygdala, the brain's emotional center. Instead of self-soothing, infants experience a "shutdown" response, causing early, unhealthy growth of the amygdala, which may lead to lifelong hypervigilance, increased anxiety, and insecure attachment — not independence. They aren't "learning" anything except that no one is coming to comfort them.

Co-sleeping + on demand breastfeeding help babies feel secure, encourages healthy attachment, lowers stress hormones, supports digestion and healthy growth, and encourages frequent natural feeding — which is exactly what baby brains and bodies ask for

If your baby is waking too frequently, it might indicate an underlying issue....with your HOME!

And I've been there done that four times now, mamas! My first born son, Noah, woke up a hundred times a night and couldn't sleep unless he was latched to my breast. I literally did not fall asleep for the first 18 months of his life. And I am not exaggerating one bit. I didn't know how I was still alive. I had suspected that it could have been mold in our home, but one ignorant mold inspector after the next told me we didn't have any mold and all the air tests came out negative one after the next. If only I knew then what I know now....

During my third pregnancy at age 42, and unknowingly on our third mold box and third sleepless baby, I didn't think things could get worse with my health or my pregnancy. It wasn't until I saw a slow trickle of water coming out from underneath the kitchen sink island that I was now positive that we had always had mold in our homes making us sick and moved our entire family out within 72 hours never to return to this moldy rental home.

But my water damage home journey wasn't over. Our next home tested clear from mold but still made me just as sick. My sleeping issues were getting worse and I was now pregnant with our fourth at age 45. I had not slept in years at this point and knew it was still the house making me sick but didn't know how to prove it. It was at this point, that I discovered my husband's life saving bison organs that gave me the single healthiest pregnancy by far, even at the age of 45 and still living in a water damage home. This is why Wild Mamas exists today, btw. But I was still experiencing health concerns from what I knew was the house.

This brand new home kept coming back negative for mold, despite the proper mold testing we were using. That's when a chiropractor friend saved my life... he told me about water damage BACTERIA. I had never heard of such a thing and neither did my mold "expert". This chiropractor told me that when it's not water damage mold, it's always water damage BACTERIA. He told me there was only ONE way to find out and only ONE test that tests for BOTH water damage mold AND water damage bacteria.

He was right. The house was off the charts in water damage bacteria, which is just as dangerous and deadly as water damage mold. This test below literally saved my life and is why I am so passionate about telling you. I do not want another mama or baby to suffer the way we did.

We need to return to what is natural and wild.

I became so fed up with homes and how they were built that my family and I have lived in a tent for the past year in the wilderness with our four children, many cats and dog. It was the healthiest year of my life and I was able to heal my body with a mold/bacteria free environment. We all slept like babies....NORMAL babies that is! ;)

In total, we had lived in FOUR BRAND NEW HOMES in the previous three years and each and every one of them had either water damage mold or bacteria or BOTH. These were all cover of a magazine homes. It doesn't matter how expensive or how new your home is, they are all built out of moldy popsicle stick wood and particle board and all have leaking pipes throughout the entire ridiculous structure. I'll happily live in a safe healthy tent for the rest of my life if I have to but we are just a month away from the completion of our mini 500 sq ft trial home in Costa Rica built with only cement, metal and glass, raised four feet off the moist foundation and zero water connections on the inside of the home. We have zero HVAC and all four sides of this tiny home are open to the outdoors with complete air flow throughout. Our shower and sinks are outside and I will never have a water pipe through a wall in our homes ever again.  I am determined to figure it out and I will let you all know how it goes! Yes, I'll be bringing this mold/bacteria test down with me to be 100% sure we nailed it!

Below are the products and companies that helped save my life and heal from mold/bacteria exposure. Replacing your contaminated pillows, mattress and bedding is of utmost importance if you are able to leave your home and contaminated belongings behind. The mycotoxin/endotoxin never comes out of these materials. Most bedding also contains mold due to bed wetting (one of my son's symptoms from mold) and any other moisture issues that developed over the years of use.

This air purifier helped me survive years in moldy homes! The shilajit was LIFE CHANGING for my health and sleeping issues. I feel like the shilajit GOLD is the best choice for issues with sleeping and energy.
