"This was one of Dr. Price’s most favorite photos. This lovely Peruvian girl with her round face lived high up in the Andes Mountains at 12,000 feet. She is holding some dried fish roe. He found that these cultures valued dried fish eggs, which they carried from the seashore to the high altitudes in their backpacks. He asked the people why they went to such trouble to bring fish eggs high up in the mountains. The answer: “We need these fish eggs so we can have healthy babies.” It was the same reply he got in Alaska from the Eskimos when he asked them about their salmon roe.
Indigenous peoples knew instinctively what science has taught us—fish eggs contain many nutrients necessary for optimum reproduction, including vitamins A, D and K, minerals like zinc and iodine, and certain fats called DHA and EPA that are important for normal reproduction, especially the development of the brain and nervous system in babies. According to Dr. Price, fish roe is also an excellent source of the X Factor."

Wild Salmon Roe has been a sacred food for many traditional cultures since the beginning of time. It is one of the most nutrient-dense foods on this planet.
Weston A. Price discovered that the Andean people would travel by foot, hundreds of miles specifically to gather fish roe to nourish the women of childbearing age with the most optimal nutrients required to create the healthiest babies.
Wild Salmon Roe is bursting with bioavailable vitamins A, B, C, D, and K2, choline, iodine, and zinc, and of course, best known for its omega-3 brain-building fatty acids, EPA and DHA.
The omega 3’s present in Wild Salmon Roe are found in a phospholipid form that allows them to easily cross the blood-brain barrier. This is especially useful in the prevention of Alzheimers and other neurodegenerative diseases. You just don’t get that in most omega-3 fish oils sitting on store shelves today.
DHA is so closely tied with optimal brain development that a deficiency in DHA in early life deficiency is associated with numerous mental and behavioral disorders. This is why we included Wild Salmon Roe in our Wild Mamas Pregnancy Stack. Wild Salmon Roe is integral to a pregnant mama’s and baby’s diet!!
When you examine the human brain, you’d see it is made up of 60% fat. 25% of that fat is DHA, found in abundance in Wild Salmon Roe. This DHA also increases progesterone, a hormone responsible for regulating the uterus lining, making a pregnancy viable.
DHA consumption has also shown a decrease in anovulation, increasing a woman’s reproductive lifespan. For men, DHA plays an equally important role. Studies have shown that low omega-3 levels are associated with lower fertility rates in men. A promising 2010 animal study found that DHA supplementation can completely restore fertility to infertile mice (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19690334/)
In addition to the protective effects of DHA, Wild Salmon Roe is also loaded with specific B vitamins, and minerals like choline and selenium that are essential for optimal cognitive performance. Choline has also been shown to prevent anxiety and mood disorders.
In just 100g of Wild Salmon Roe you get 100% of the RDA for selenium. Selenium is hard to get in foods but it is super powerful for supporting coordination, detoxification, memory, and cognition.
People suffering from depression often exhibit lower omega-3 levels, so getting enough omega-3’s in your diet is CRUCIAL. Wild Salmon Roe contains the special type of DHA required by the brain for neuronal growth.
Daily supplementation of 1-2 grams of omega-3 can offer antidepressant effects without the side effects and interaction risks of common antidepressant meds.
Wild Salmon Roe is uncommonly high in antioxidants, especially vitamins A, C, and E.
Just 100g, equivalent to ½ cup of Wild Salmon Roe, provides 66% of your RDA in vitamin E, 20% of vitamin C, and 13% of vitamin A.
One of the most important vitamins for mental health and brain development, B12, is found in abundance in Wild Salmon Roe.
Astaxanthin, which gives salmon its gorgeous orange/red color has been shown to reduce markers of oxidative stress and potentially even prevent dementia.
And let’s discuss its beauty benefits! The omega 3’s and selenium are incredible for skin health and reducing inflammation. Wild Salmon Roe is the key to aging with grace and beauty!
While the sun is the best way to get your vitamin D, Wild Salmon Roe offers an ample amount of bioavailable vitamin D, supporting immune health, bone growth and development, preventing heart disease, regulating mood and preventing depression.
Finally but not lastly, Wild Salmon Roe is an excellent source of protein, offering 25 grams of protein per 100 grams of roe. One of the best protein sources on a per calorie basis. This protein includes leucine, essential for muscle growth! (no steroids needed!)
Every single human on this planet needs this in their diet. While the little orange gems are super fun for kids, and we encourage you to feed it to your littles, for some of us, the Wild Salmon Roe can be a bit of an acquired taste. That’s why WILD MAMAS has included this wildly necessary superfood in our flagship supplement line up!
Always know, your health and safety are our first priority. Nothing matters more. We endeavor to bring every man, woman and child back to optimal health and will never do anything but that. We always TEST every product we sell to ensure their safety.
The results of our mercury testing came back as less than 0.01 mg/kg of mercury! You can LIVE ON these supplements and never once concern yourself with mercury!
And actually, FDA allows for three servings of light tuna per week, equal to 54 micrograms of mercury. One can of light tuna contains about 18.11 micrograms of mercury and an average can of albacore tuna contains 49.53 micrograms.
You CANNOT go wrong with this Wild Salmon Roe, it is literally one of the most nutrient dense foods on this planet!
This is so important to talk about. They’ve scared mamas from eating seafood, one of the very best foods you can eat, because of mercury and other heavy metals. While the mercury is offset by the naturally occurring selenium, we actually had our Wild Salmon Roe tested and there is almost ZERO detectable mercury in our Roe! Selenium or not, you can rest easy knowing our Wild Salmon Roe is perfectly safe for you, your kids, and your baby! (TEST RESULTS)
Because fish oil is a processed food and is particularly susceptible to oxidation. Oxidation is a normal process in all oils that contain polyunsaturated fatty acids especially when exposed to heat, air or light. It is also prone to oxidation because of its long supply chain, from manufacture to shelf to purchase. This process often lacks appropriate preventive measures. And not only is oxidized fish oil not beneficial, but it is also HARMING your health. Rancid oils can cause organ damage and inflammation.
We created this Wild Salmon Roe because we know how important seafood (with its abundant nutrients) is for mamas, babies and the entire family. Our Wild Salmon Roe is a powerhouse. It is a whole food. We get it frozen immediately after catch and it is gently freeze dried to maximize nutrient retention. There is one thing better than our Wild Salmon Roe supplement and that is eating fresh salmon roe (which we highly advise)!
Yes, actually when it comes to salmon, wild matters. At the most basic level, the nutrient profile is so much better, when comparing wild salmon vs farm-raised salmon. The problem with farm-raised salmon is similar to conventionally raised cattle, the fish are fed junk food and exposed to antibiotics and other chemicals used by the farmers. Wild salmon eat a natural diet as they forage for food in the wild, which leads to a more nutrient-rich final product.
Yes, it definitely matters! We are the ONLY company encapsulating SALMON roe in the U.S. There are other companies showing pictures of salmon roe but when you read the ingredients it's actually some other kind of "fish" roe. Why show a salmon, or the beautiful richly colored salmon roe and not actually use salmon roe in the product? It's so misleading and likely because those other fish are cheaper and inferior to the nutrient-rich WILD SALMON ROE we use in our supplements.
Ask the questions and as always, read the ingredients.
Ideally, you’d be taking 6 capsules per day which would make each bottle last for 30 days.
A: This is such an important question and the short answer is, absolutely NOT! While we are the only U.S. based manufacturer of wild salmon roe supplements, there are a couple of other companies who are producing some kind of fish roe supplement (not salmon, though they'd like for you to think so) who do use the standard industry toxic salt but we have an exclusive with our distributor who makes our roe special for Wild Mamas using no salt at all. In fact, we got them to change over their entire product line to contain a healthy salt for the other products they sell including their roe. In my opinion, the industry standard salt used in roe products is toxic, does more harm than good and should be avoided at all costs.
In addition, your average fish roe product contains between 2.6-3% salt which means that you are losing out on your product being 100% roe. Sure, the right kind of salt is extremely healthy for you when used in the right doses but your body can't even taste it when you swallow the capsules so it can't tell you when your body has had enough salt!
